This surface treatment gives the benefits of both protection and aesthetics, as well as increasing the service life of steel in response to the needs of our requirements for energy, to save resources and also upgrade our living standards. This treatment not only offers protection against corrosion, but also provides a wide range of diverse characteristics for many different applications. It is broadly used in the automotive, 3C, home appliance and mechanical industries.

Galvannealed steel sheet
If the steel material is further treated at high temperature, after having been hot-dip galvanized, the original pure zinc coating layer will react and meld with the steel to provide a zinc-iron alloy layer. This alloyed coating is harder and more brittle than the GI coating but also has better machinability. However, because it is hard and brittle it cannot be very thick.
The main characteristics are an increase in the anti-corrosion and forming and machining properties. It is also more easily welded and coated. The main uses are in the automotive and home appliance industry where good machinability and aesthetics are important.
